This is good news. It had been previously reported that the match between Carmelo Hayes and Austin Theory last night on Smackdown was stopped due to a potential real-life injury that took place during the match.

WWE posted the following message on social media, indicating that both superstars seemed to be OK:

UPDATE: Following their match tonight on #SmackDown, @_Theory1 and @Carmelo_WWE were evaluated for injuries. They both suffered face contusions and will both be okay.

Editor’s Opinion:

This is excellent news to hear and shows that the injury could have been potentially legitimate. The fact that WWE felt like they had to post a statement on their social media accounts indicates that many folks thought this incident was serious, and we are just glad that both superstars are OK. I’m sure they will have the opportunity to revisit this match in the future, and I can’t wait to see it!
