It’s his world. Retirements come in many forms in wrestling and you can get some rather odd situations when a wrestler is ready to hang up their boots for good. Some of them are build up over time while others come out of nowhere. Either way it can often help to have a wrestler’s input on their retirement, and now we know some more about of the biggest coming up soon.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: WRESTLING RUMORS: WWE Stable Reportedly Getting Important Upgrade

In recent weeks, AEW has been promoting Sting’s retirement match at Revolution on March 3. This week on Dynamite, while not confirmed, it was teased that Sting and his regular partner Darby Allin would team up against the Young Bucks at Revolution. According to Fightful Select, Sting had a “major say” in choosing his final opponents. Sting had requested a tag match, saying he does not want to wrestle a singles match, which he has not yet done in AEW. The Bucks have been the planned opponents as of “a few weeks ago”. AEW is said to be willing to do whatever Sting wants in the match as it is seen as very important.

Sting’s time in AEW has been impressive. Check out what he has done in the company:

Opinion: This isn’t the biggest surprise as Sting’s in ring career is going to be over in two months. Why not let him do whatever he wants to on the way out? It’s the kind of thing that you do not see happen very often and in this case it is interesting to see where it all goes. What matters is having Sting get a great sendoff, which has certainly been built up in a special way.

What do you think of the likely match? What is the best part of Sting’s AEW career? Let us know in the comments below.
