He wants it. There are certain wrestlers who have been around the industry for such a long time at such a high level that it is almost impossible to imagine them going away for good. At some point it happens to everyone, but that doesn’t mean they are going to be happy about it. That is the case with one wrestling legend, who is pushing to still be a bigger part of the show.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: He Would Know: Jim Ross Offers Important Detail On AEW Contract, Hope For The Future

Last year, Ric Flair made a surprise AEW debut, saying that he would be with his longtime associate Sting until the latter’s retirement match on March 3. This week on Dynamite, Flair chopped Powerhouse Hobbs and poked him in the eye, marking the most physical he has gotten since his AEW debut. According to Fightful Select, while AEW is not considering Flair, 74 years old, having a match, he has been “actively pushing” for more physical spots. There is no word on if AEW is considering allowing this to take place.

Flair has certainly been around. Check out some of his time in AEW:

Opinion: This is hardly a surprise as Flair has long since pushed to be doing more on any wrestling show. With that being said, it’s also not a surprise that AEW is hesitant to allow him to do so. Flair is in his mid 70s and has had a long history of health issues. It would be more than a bit risky to let Flair try to do something overly physical and AEW seems to realize that issue.

What do you think of Flair’s time in AEW? Should he be allowed to do more? Let us know in the comments below.
