WWE Hall of Famer “The Million Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase was recently interviewed by The Mirror, where he discussed a number of topics. Among them were “RAW 25,” his son, Ted DiBiase Jr., the expectations of “Stone Cold” Steve Austin and more.

Below are some questions along with the “Million Dollar Man’s” answers:

What’s it like to be invited to join the RAW 25 celebrations?

Oh gosh, I’m thrilled. It’s very nostalgic. It’s an opportunity to see a lot of old friends and reminisce about some good times.

Your son Ted DiBiase Junior followed in your footsteps and became a two-time tag team champion. You must have been very proud.

Yes I was very proud of him. I tried to tell him, I said son ‘it’s not the wrestling, because you’re going to love that,’ but I said ‘son, once you have a wife and you have a family and you realise how much time you are going to have to be gone, that’s the lifestyle, that’s the deterrent’. For a young single guy it’s great, but once he got married and he had a baby, then his contract came up, and he said ‘see you’.

Boogeyman, The Million Dollar Man, Brother Love and more Legends are returning for Raw 25

As you’ve mentioned, you later returned to Raw to mentor and develop younger stars.

Yeah I was put with guys as a manager and that was to help elevate them. Usually a manager is put with someone who has got good rings skills, but is not necessarily good on the mic. So I have no idea why they put me with Steve Austin, he didn’t need any help! Guys like Tatanka, I was a mouthpiece for him… You manage guys, you help them in a lot of ways and I was fortunate to be able to help a few guys.

Did Austin exceed your expectations with just how big he became?

I think he exceeded everybody’s expectations, I really do. What’s funny is you know everybody is talking about how we’re now a PG programme. I think that’s great, because I’m a minister now and I have been for a long time, so I was not a big fan of the Attitude Era. There were some things they did that were very funny and that was great, but I was never a fan of the sleazy stuff.

What’s funny is, I was part of a panel, Steve and I, and they said ‘Ted, you have been quoted as saying that you would never allow your son’s hero to be a beer guzzling, swearing, finger-flipping wrestler’. I said ‘exactly, I still believe that today’. Steve was sitting by me and he looked at me and said ‘that’s the same thing my mother said!’ Ha ha ha.

They also talk about his feud with Brutus “The Barber” Beefcake, if he watches the current product and more.
