It was great, and then it wasn’t. Tonight at WrestleMania 39 Sunday, Shane McMahon made a surprising return to the company when he was introduced as a special guest by Snoop Dogg. However, things went south real quick for Shane-O-Mac when he entered the ring.

Snoop immediately set up an impromptu match with him and Miz, much like on Saturday with Pat McAfee. However, seconds into the match, Shane collapsed in the middle of the ring and was unable to continue. The camera even stayed on Miz for a lengthy time, indicating something was really wrong.

As a result, Snoop Dogg called an audible, enter the ring, and punched Miz in the mouth. He then delivered a People’s Elbow, before picking up a pinfall victory.

Triple H confirmed at the WrestleMania press conference that Shane McMahon suffered a torn quad during the match.

Editor’s Opinion:

There is so much to unpack here. First, it was awesome to see Shane McMahon; I was not expecting that. Furthermore, that really sucks that he got hurt seconds into his appearance. Finally, huge props to Snoop Dogg for improvising better than most professionals in the business. He came in, took control of the situation and saved the segment. He deserves a raise. In the meantime, get well soon, Shane!
