This is a rumor, so take it for what it’s worth.

According to the latest episode of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the talk of WWE purchasing EVOLVE Wrestling and putting it on the WWE Network has surfaced again. Although WWE has allowed them to use Adam Cole as of late, as long as it’s not on the WWN streaming service.

It had been previously reported that WWE has considered putting on independent wrestling special on the WWE Network in 2019, featuring stars from WWN, ICW and Progress, to use their talent and bring them in for either one-off appearances or long-term deals.

The report also says that Vince McMahon has gone back-and-forth on this idea for close to two years; including many times where he said yes, but then changed his mind.

Editor’s Opinion:

This could only end up being good for both promotions, I feel. Independent wrestling has received a lot more mainstream attention as of late, and WWE putting more content on their global network could bring even more attention to the great things that are going on in other promotions.
