A new attitude, perhaps? According to the latest issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Kevin Owens was supposed to have a different storyline and character than the one that he is currently portraying.
Owens was originally planned to be No. 2 face on Smackdown Live, behind Roman Reigns. He was going to portray a “guy next door” babyface, who ate junk food, had the same problems everyone else had and had kids, but could also kick ass when necessary.
He was even given the ultimate babyface finishing maneuver, the Stone Cold Stunner, to help with this persona.
Daniel Bryan was scheduled to get a rematch with Kofi Kingston for the WWE Championship at Money in the Bank, but with him getting injured recently, the decision was made to have Owens pretend to join The New Day, and then turn on Kingston.
This was, of course, because Big E is injured and is out of action for a while.

Editor’s Thoughts:
Thank goodness. I tried to buy into KO as a babyface, I really did, but he is just way too good as a heel for him not to be anything else. Him and Kingston will have an amazing program together.
