According to a report from CNBC, former WWE CEO Linda McMahon is on tap to become the next United States Secretary of Commerce. This comes from reports that current secretary, Wilbur Ross, will be resigning by the end of the year.
McMahon, who is the current head of the Small Business Administration has told some of President Donald Trump’s top advisors that she would take the job if offered.
Here is a current video of her in her new role:
McMahon had been a fixture on WWE programming during the days of the Attitude Era. In addition, she has a deep political lineage; in both 2010 and 2012, she was the unsuccessful Republican nominee for U.S. Senate from Connecticut.
The Small Business Administration had the following to say regarding her possible new role:
“Administrator McMahon is proud to serve the President and is focused on advocating on behalf of America’s 30 million small businesses.”
