It had been previously reported that Matt Hardy has been in an ongoing lawsuit with Impact Wrestling over who owns the rights to the “Broken” trademark that he used to revitalize his career.

According to a report from PWInsider:

The ‘Broken Matt Hardy’ trademark will be published for opposition on December 19th, so any parties who want to oppose will have a 30-day period beginning from that date to file an opposition.

If there is no opposition, the trademark will officially be in the hands of Hardy and available for him to use, within WWE or independently of the company.

Rumors of the “Broken” gimmick debuting in WWE have been rampant for months. Over the last few months, Matt has been teasing the gimmick in his promos, as well as on social media.

His brother, Jeff, is currently out of action, due to an injury that required surgery.

Editor’s Opinion:

I still believe that “Broken” Matt Hardy and Brother Nero will be appearing on WWE television before their time in the company is over. And I will mark out every single time that they speak in this manner!
