So that’s what a new champion gets you. Last week’s episode of “Smackdown Live”, a taped episode from Manchester, England, drew quite a respectable rating and audience, mainly due to AJ Styles winning the Smackdown World Title. The question was how much of that audience could they maintain.

According to 411mania.com, this week’s episode of “Smackdown Live” drew a .82 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 2.607 million viewers. These numbers are identical to and up .15% over last week’s .82 rating and 2.603 million viewers respectively. This week’s show was headlined by Sami Zayn/Kevin Owens vs. New Day.

Opinion: Actually that’s not the best result in the world. You would kind of expect a live show with some big moments to be a bigger deal, but at least the numbers didn’t go down. Styles as World Champion is a good thing for fans, especially after all those months of Jinder Mahal on top. Now hopefully people keep watching or we might be back to Mahal again.
