The Pirate Princess is back. After months of speculation and rumors, Kairi Sane finally returned to WWE programming tonight at Crown Jewel 2023. She returned to help Iyo Sky retain the WWE Women’s Championship against Bianca Belair.

You can see the return below:

Sane debuted in WWE in 2016 when she competed in the Mae Young Classic that year. She would go on to win the tournament and earned a shot at the then-vacant NXT Women’s Championship. During her run in NXT, she captured the Women’s Championship and remained there until her main roster debut in 2019. She would form a tag team with Asuka, known as the ‘Kabuki Warriors’. She left the company in December 2021, deciding to return to Japan and compete there.

The last time Sane was on WWE programming, she was attacked by Bayley backstage during the Raw Women’s Championship match between Asuka and Sasha Banks.

Editor’s Opinion:

I am so happy to see her back in the company. I’ve always thought she was one of the best superstars that NXT had, and she has the look, athletic ability, and connection with the fans to be a superstar. Her new alliance with her former friend will make for some very interesting storylines going forward, and I can’t wait to see where this all goes!
