Breaking News: WWE Suspends Eva Marie for Wellness Policy Violation

When it rains, it really pours. In this case, the pouring has now become red.

WWE.com has released the following statement on their webpage, as well as their official Twitter account:

This is Eva Marie’s first violation of the wellness policy. The suspension takes place effective immediately.

This has not been a good week of violations for WWE. Yesterday, both Alberto Del Rio and Paige were suspended by the company for violating their wellness policy.

Eva Marie is currently signed to the “Smackdown Live” brand. She has been participating in a storyline in which she doesn’t actually wrestle, but always has some sort of issue which prevents her from competing. She does manage to make her present felt at some point in the show, however.

She is currently scheduled to team with Alexa Bliss and Natalya take on the team of Becky Lynch, Naomi and Carmella in a six-woman tag match this Sunday at “SummerSlam.”

I am absolutely floored by this one. If any of you have read the site recently, or seen me on Wrestling Warm-up, you know how big I am on Eva Marie, and how I think that her current gimmick is absolutely brilliant. However, as we’ve seen with Roman Reigns, no one is exempt from the policy, nor should they be. It will be interesting to see what WWE does going forward at “SummerSlam,” as well as with the women on “Smackdown Live” in the following weeks.
