We have some incredibly sad news to report as multiple sources are reporting that WWE Hall of Famer Bobby “The Brain” Heenan has passed away at the age of 73.

The news was first broken by Jim Ross via Twitter and confirmed on WWE.com:

Hall of Fame: Bobby "The Brain" Heenan

“The Brain” was most known for his role as a manager of some of the greatest names in the history of professional wrestling. These include Nick Bockwinkel, the Blackjacks, Big John Studd, King Kong Bundy, “Ravishing” Rick Rude, “Mr. Perfect” Curt Hennig, the Brain Busters (Arn Anderson and Tully Blanchard), Harley Race, and Andre The Giant.

We at Wrestling Rumors extend our deepest sympathies and condolences to the Heenan family during this difficult time.

Editor’s Note:

Bobby “The Brain” Heenan has always been my favorite commentator in this history of professional wrestling. His undeniable wit, passion for the business and ability to say the right thing at the right time are legendary. There are so many wonderful quotes from Heenan that still stick with me to this day.

I think the biggest thing that we can find solace in, is that he is now re-united with his best friend, Gorilla Monsoon. Rest In Peace, Mr. Heenan. Thank you for all that you have done for the world of professional wrestling.
