Last night on “Talking Smack,” Baron Corbin ruthlessly attacked Sami Zayn to close out the show. In the process, he managed to strike an official, which never sits well with the authority figures.
As a result, the commissioner of “Smackdown Live,” Shane McMahon, took to Twitter today and said that Corbin was both fined and suspended for his actions:
It is never acceptable for an athlete in any sport to put their hands on an official, @WWE is no exception. @BaronCorbinWWE actions…

…on #TalkingSmack were irresponsible and unprofessional. He has been fined and suspended for one week effectively immediately. #SDLive

The attack came as a result of what happened earlier in the show. The “Lone Wolf” was defeated by AJ Styles after Kevin Owens, who was sitting at ringside, tried to interfere. The plan didn’t work and Corbin was caught off-guard with a roll up.
Naturally this did not sit well with the heels, who attacked Styles after the match. Sami Zayn would then come to ringside to even the odds, and attack Corbin in the process.
Editor’s Note:
I like that they’re continuing to push this storyline using the authority figures. Shane and Daniel Bryan have never allowed themselves to be pushed around by talent, and this is no different.
