According to the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the plan going forward is for Lesnar to face either Bobby Lashley or Roman Reigns at Summerslam for the Universal Championship. However, the report also states that this could backfire as the New York crowd could become incredibly hostile and not give the match a chance.
Whatever the match is, the angle being thrown around is that the fans should hate Lesnar because not only does he not care about them, or the company, but he’s also breaching an ethics code by not losing the title on the way out of WWE.
The report also states that this week is a make-or-break time for Lesnar and a possible return to UFC. If he doesn’t enter the USADA testing pool by June 29, he won’t be able to fight the winner of the July 7 match between Stipe Miocic and Daniel Cormier. This fight would take place on December 29.
Editor’s Opinion:
I have to think that this the event where Lesnar finally drops the title, but we’ve been saying that ever since he won the Universal Championship from Goldberg at WrestleMania 33. We’ll see what happens, but I won’t be shocked either way.
