Tonight at the WWE “Payback” pay-per-view, Alexa Bliss defeated Bayley to win the “Raw” Women’s Championship. This marks her first reign with the title on the red brand.
What makes tonight special, however, is that Bliss becomes the first female superstar in the history of the company to win both the “Raw” and “Smackdown Live” Women’s Championships.
Over on the blue brand, Bliss won the “Smackdown Live” women’s championship on two different occasions, making her the first woman in the history of the company to do so. She defeated Becky Lynch at the “TLC” pay-per-view in December of 2016 to capture her first title, and then defeated her again to capture the then vacated title on the February 21, 2017 episode of the show.
Editor’s Note:
I am completely OK with this. Alexa Bliss has become one of may favorite wrestlers in the company, and it has been wonderful to watch her blossom into the superstar that she is. She’s good in the ring, awesome on the microphone, and knows how to troll the crowd as well as anyone. Congratulations on a well-deserved accomplishment!
