Current WWE Intercontinental Champion Dolph Ziggler will be a member of Team Cena at “Survivor Series” on Nov. 23.
He will join John Cena, Big Show, Sheamus and a fifth member in a traditional Survivor Series elimination tag team match against Team Authority in the main event.
MetsFan4Ever, a Reddit user with ties to World Wrestling Entertainment, is reporting that Ziggler may be wrestling two matches at the pay-per-view.
Based off the rave reviews his Triple Threat match on the Nov. 14 edition of “Friday Night SmackDown” has received, WWE would like Ziggler to defend his IC title in a rematch against both Tyson Kidd and Cesaro.
This wouldn’t be the first “Survivor Series” event that Ziggler has competed twice at, though.
In the opening bout of the pay-per-view back in 2011, Ziggler retained his IC Championship against John Morrison. He then was a member of Team Barrett (Ziggler, Wade Barrett, Cody Rhodes, Jack Swagger and Hunico) against Team Orton (Randy Orton, Sheamus, Mason Ryan, Kofi Kingston and Sin Cara) later in the show.
Booking Ziggler twice could be a way for The Authority to weaken Cena’s team for their big match. The stipulation is that if Team Authority loses, Stephanie McMahon and Triple H will be out of power.
Editor’s Note
I really hope this happens. Their match on “Friday Night SmackDown” is a television Match of the Year candidate. Put that sucker on pay-per-view.
