At WWE “Payback” on June 30, Brie Bella “quit” World Wrestling Entertainment during an in-ring segment involving Daniel Bryan and Stephanie McMahon.

Bryan had the choice of either relinquishing the WWE World Heavyweight Championship  or watch as Stephanie fired Brie on the spot. Rather than have her husband hand over his titles, Brie quit willingly, but not before slapping Stephanie in the face.

Brie Bella vs. Stephanie McMahon is expected to be on the card for WWE “SummerSlam” on Aug. 17.

According to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, we’re likely going to see a stipulation added to the aforementioned bout of Brie winning back her job if she emerges victorious.

The last time Stephanie competed in a wrestling ring was at WWE “No Mercy” on Oct. 19, 2003. She lost an “I Quit” match to her father, Vince McMahon.

Editor’s Note

Fans have been calling for a match between the two for months. “SummerSlam” is a perfect stage for it to take place. It may not be a technical masterpiece, but if the match happens, it could be one of the most-anticipated women’s bouts in company history.
