It was confirmed during WWE “Extreme Rules” on April 26 that the prestigious “King of the Ring” tournament would be making a return.

One of eight superstars will be named the first “King of the Ring” winner since 2010, although if there will be a prize beyond that title is still not known.

The eight superstars are: Dean Ambrose, Sheamus, Neville, Luke Harper, Stardust, R-Truth, Dolph Ziggler and Bad News Barrett.

The only previous winner of the tournament entered this year is Sheamus, who won the last rendition back in 2010.

Per WWE.com:

King of the Ring is back! The highly-anticapated battle for in-ring supremacy will begin tonight at 8/7 C on Monday Night Raw, with the semi-finals and finals taking place tomorrow night in a LIVE WWE Network presentation at 8/7 C.

Who will be crowned this year’s winner and seize the majesty of squared circle greatness?

Editor’s Note

I’m going to go with Bad News Barrett. Very rarely does a face character win the tournament. Sheamus has already won it. Luke Harper and Stardust don’t seem very likely. Dolph Ziggler is a huge sleeper, though.
