In a recent report here at WrestlingRumors.net, it was noted that Batista was set to take some time off after the “WWE Extreme Rules” special event to begin promoting his upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy film.
WWE wanted him to work “WWE Payback” in a match with Daniel Bryan for the WWE Championship, but those plans will obviously be scrapped if he takes a leave of absence.
The word backstage (according to PWInsider.com) is that Batista, along with several other WWE superstars, are currently upset with their pay in the company.
Batista is frustrated because he was promised a sum that the WWE is not delivering on. The feeling is that he could walk for good and not be hurt because of the money he’s earned as a film star.
WWE officials did their best to convince Batista to work through “WWE Payback” at the “WWE Extreme Rules” special event on Sunday, but word is that “things are not looking good” in terms of him sticking around.
Editor’s Note
Say what you will about Batista’s attitude, but if he was in fact promised a certain amount of money by WWE and he’s not receiving it, then why wouldn’t he be upset? It also doesn’t surprise me to hear several other superstars being upset as well. The WWE Network has changed everything. This could become a serious issue down the road. It’s something to keep an eye on.
