Leading up to WWE “Survivor Series” on Nov. 23, rumors were running rampant over the possibility of Randy Orton making his presence felt at the event.

He had been written off television following an attack by Seth Rollins and The Authority on an episode of “Monday Night Raw.” This was because Orton needed time away from the ring to work on WWE Studios’ latest film, “The Condemned 2: Desert Prey.”

According to a report by PWInsider.com, Orton was indeed flown to St. Louis for the show.

While he was backstage, management felt that with Sting’s inevitable debut, there was no need for “The Viper” to appear live.

Plans are still in motion for Orton to take on Rollins at an upcoming pay-per-view, presumably at “WWE TLC: Tables, Ladders & Chairs” on Dec. 14.

Editor’s Note

It would have been nice to see Orton get a hometown pop, but considering the magnitude of Sting’s appearance, it wasn’t absolutely necessary.
