It was first announced by WWE.com on April 3 that former three-time WWE Divas Champion AJ Lee would be retiring as an in-ring competitor from the company.

Her last official match was on the March 30 edition of “Monday Night Raw,” teaming with Paige and Naomi in a victory over Nikki Bella, Brie Bella and Natalya.

AJ has now made her first official comments since retiring, thanking her fans on Twitter for all of their support:

Several WWE superstars and Divas, both past and present, have also used social media to offer up their two cents on AJ’s sudden retirement.

WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley even wrote a blog post on Facebook concerning AJ, calling her “a pioneer.”

WWE and NXT superstar Alex Riley had different thoughts, though, mocking AJ’s neck tattoo and the date of her retirement.

Editor’s Note

AJ Lee is the most successful Diva of this generation. She differed from the norm, using her own unique style and charm to win over the masses. WWE won’t be the same without her.
