As soon as the Hype Bros, Zack Ryder and Mojo Rawley, were named No. 1 contenders for Smackdown’s tag team titles, their momentum was halted by a knee injury suffered by Ryder. It will be a little while until Ryder is able to return to action, which leaves Rawley existing in a sort of no man’s land. What to do with Rawley that doesn’t involve him spinning his wheels waiting for Ryder to return? One man has a suggestion, and it happens to be Ryder himself.

Ryder tweeted that he thinks Rawley should team up with Curt Hawkins, even giving it the somewhat clumsy hashtag #HypeHawks. Are you only remembering right now that Hawkins is even on Smackdown? Nobody would blame you, because aside from some mediocre “Chuck Norris Facts” ripoff promos he’s barely been involved. It’s also a bit of an odd suggestion, considering Hawkins seems to be a heel, if he’s anything, and Rawley is most definitely a face. It would make more sense for Rawley to team up with, say, Apollo Crews. They are both big dudes, and Crews hasn’t exactly been getting much screen time recently. Although, perhaps Ryder’s tweet is actually a bit of foreshadowing. Maybe we should be ready for #HypeHawks to be a reality.
