Being a WWE superstar can garner you a big fan base, worldwide recognition, and celebrity. It can also, if you’re fortunate, bring you a pretty big paycheck. Earlier this year, Forbes put together a list of the highest-paid wrestlers in the WWE. There are a lot of notable names among the list of the top paid superstars, although the name on top of the list won’t surprise you.
John Cena is far and away the highest-paid performer, bringing in a reported $9.5 million. A lot of that comes from all the merchandise he sells, if you are wondering why Cena has never turned heel. In second, perhaps surprisingly, is Brock Lesnar, who brought in $6 million. In third, there’s Triple H at a much lower (relatively speaking) $2.8 million. Granted, Triple H may not really wrestle anymore, but he’s a major executive behind the scenes, so it’s not like he’s just pulling in cash for nothing. In fifth and six you will find the rekindled alliance of Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns.

One thing that sticks out on this list is how many of the highest-paid wrestlers aren’t full-timers. Triple H doesn’t really wrestle, and Cena and Lesnar aren’t regular performers anymore. However, Cena has definitely earned his hefty payday, and Lesnar probably needs a pretty penny to get him in the ring. Eventually, guys like Cena will find their position usurped by the likes of Rollins and Reigns, but for now, Cena is still the king, at least financially.
