On the latest episode of WWE Raw, the OC – AJ Styles, Karl Anderson, and Luke Gallows – were conversing backstage. Aleister Black walked past them, but was stopped by the trio. After smack-talking from AJ Styles, all three attacked Black and left him beaten on the ground.
Later on Raw, a battered Black was still able to gain a pinfall victory over Erick Rowan. After the match, he challenged Styles to a match on next week’s episode of Raw. As a result of this angle, many felt that the new direction for Styles at WrestleMania would be a match against Aleister Black.
Despite this new direction, the rumored Undertaker vs. Styles match for WrestleMania 36 looks to still be in the plans, according to the Wrestling Observer Radio. Undertaker will be appearing at Super Showdown this Thursday, and the belief is that he will be there to set up his match against Styles.
Currently, Styles is scheduled for the Tuwaiq Trophy Gauntlet Match, which will also include United States Champion Andrade, Bobby Lashley, Erick Rowan, R-Truth, and Rey Mysterio. Based on The Undertaker appearing on the event, Styles will most likely win that match, seeing how he would need as much momentum as possible heading into a match against The Undertaker at WrestleMania.
Similarly, this also causes speculation that Styles could be handing Black his first singles loss since leaving the NXT roster for Raw last year around WrestleMania 35. To protect Black, Anderson and Gallows can somehow interfere in the match.
The rumored Undertaker vs. Styles match has been widely accepted. However, as previously reported, former Impact Wrestling World Champion Brian Cage is not a big fan of the idea.

“I think that’s – no insult to Taker, but I think that’s – a little bit of a waste of AJ’s talent,” said Cage. “I feel like he could be in a much better, solid, you know, wrestling match, as opposed to that. I don’t think he needs, he doesn’t need that rub, and I don’t know how much that rub is anymore anyways, but I would prefer to see AJ in a different match.”
