CM Punk is going to give another go at competing inside the Octagon. After leaving WWE following the 2014 Royal Rumble pay-per-view, CM Punk took an over two-year hiatus to train for his UFC career. He would have an opportunity to make his UFC debut in September of 2016. However, he would only last a little over two minutes in the first round, before losing via rear naked choke to Mickey Gall.
CM Punk would be interviewed following losing his debut fight, which you can see below.
It was reported by MMA Fighting that Punk will most likely be competing at UFC 225 in Chicago in June against Mike Jackson, who also suffered a first-round loss to Mickey Gall in 2016.
During a recent episode of Heated Conversations, Booker T gave his prediction of who will win the fight.
“I like the odds for Mike Jackson,” said Booker. “I’m gonna pick a guy who’s been in a fight before a guy who’s been in only one fight any day of the week. Sparring? I don’t care about no sparring. Who cares about sparring? I don’t care about practice. I’m talking about when the game gets started, somebody hit you in the eye, and it swells. That’s what I’m talking about.”
Booker would add that he believes that CM Punk, who is turning 40 this year and has not had a lot of experience in MMA, is at a big disadvantage going into this fight.
