As we previously noted, 16-time WWE Champion John Cena is being sued by the Ford company. The WWE free agent has now explained why the lawsuit should be thrown out.

To summarize, back in November last year it was reported that the Ford company was suing Cena after he sold his 2017 Ford GT, which violated a contract he had with the car company.

To make matters worse, Cena was picked from thousands of applicants to be able to purchase the vehicle, which is reportedly worth around $460,000.

In purchasing the vehicle, he had agreed to keep the car at least two years before being able to sell it, with only 500 of these cars being made by Ford.

TMZ Sports now claims new court documents filed in the district court of Michigan. In these documents, Cena has explained that he doesn’t believe he did anything wrong as the final contract did not say anything about a 24-month no-resale clause.

Cena has also asked the judge to throw out the case against him, as he believes Ford didn’t properly include that clause in their paperwork.

Ford had the following statement to the courts:

“Mr. Cena has unfairly made a large profit from the unauthorized resale flip of the vehicle, and Ford has suffered additional damages and losses, including, but not limited to, loss of brand value, ambassador activity, and customer goodwill due to the improper sale.”

The former WWE Champion claims he did tell the company he had sold the car amongst other property to pay his bills and Ford is now looking for Cena to return profits from the sale alongside other damages.
