Among all of the company’s pay-per-view events, WrestleMania X-Seven may just be the best show WWE has ever had to offer.
This event was so special because it displayed everything the Attitude Era was known for: blood, sex, violence, and “Stone Cold” Steve Austin.
Being the main event, the classic bout between Steve Austin and The Rock may have arguably been the best part of WrestleMania X-Seven.
Both competitors were absolute icons, which made fans have to choose which star to root for. During the match, there was more violence than anticipated, but the crowd still roared.
At the end of the match, things would get juicy when Austin’s nemesis, Mr. McMahon, would make his way to the ring. This would become one of the biggest “sell-outs” in WWE history.
Another great match from this WrestleMania was the second ever Tables, Ladders, and Chairs (TLC) match.
Edge and Christian, The Dudley Boyz, and The Hardy Boyz would tear the house down. Each team would use their signature weapon, and use it to destroy whoever came in the way.
Also, Shane McMahon took on the ultimate villain of the Attitude Era, his own father.
This match included some unnecessary involvement from Stephanie McMahon and Trish Stratus. But overall, it was executed nicely and it was an interesting twist to the father-son feud.
And what would WrestleMania be without The Undertaker?
The Phenom put the Streak on the line against Triple H, who typically taunted his WrestleMania foe. In the match, both wrestlers would brutally beat the hell out of each other till the three-count.
One aspect of this event was the incorporation of classic 1990s technical wrestlers, including Chris Benoit, Chris Jericho, and Eddie Guerrero.
All in all, WrestleMania X-Seven took all the parts of a great wrestling show, and mixed them together
