This past Wednesday on the El Rey Network, Rey Mysterio made his debut appearance on Lucha Underground. Just earlier today, the former WWE Champion discussed the comparisons he gets to WWE’s new United States Champion Kalisto.

Mysterio is doing very well outside of WWE. He’s going to have a great run in Lucha Underground, but he’s run into a little bit of trouble with one promotion as he debuts for another.

According to ProWrestlingSheet.com, he’s having quite a bit of trouble with AAA. He’s been working with them on and off since leaving WWE. It seemed to be a fruitful relationship until now.

The trouble in question is a contract dispute between Mysterio and the officials within the company. He’s been noticeably absent from several recent AAA event because of money issues between them and what Rey is perceiving to be shady business practices on the part of AAA.

The fact is that a superstar like Rey Mysterio, Jr gets to make certain demands that would never think to ask. Apparently, his deal with AAA is based on the number of dates he’d be away from home, but also whether it’s a house show, TV taping, or media appearance.

The greater issue is that AAA has stopped paying him for every trip he’s made for the company, and Mysterio is obviously unhappy about the situation.
