As part of the WWE’s recent attempt to push its brand into the mainstream, WWE Diva Paige will appear on Conan next week on October 22. Conan appears on TBS on weeknights at 11 p.m. EST.

The appearance represents a series of efforts on behalf of WWE to infiltrate mainstream television programming, such as the recent announcement that it will partner with ESPN for a weekly segment.

When the news broke about Lana and Rusev’s engagement, TMZ broke the story.

Towards the end of Jon Stewart’s reign as host of “The Daily Show,” he feuded with current WWE Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins and guest hosted SummerSlam (only to help Rollins defeat Cena in an abrupt about face).

Editor’s Note: Since Hulk Hogan made wrestling palatable to the mainstream, the WWE has piggybacked off that success. For a long time, their influence declined in the media, but the recent resurgence only stands to expose new potential fans to the product. Editor’s Note: Follow Bill Kline on Twitter @RealBillKline or on Facebook
