Last week, CM Punk’s contract expired, and his profile on WWE.com was moved to the alumni section. While the two sides are no longer contractually tied to each other, things may not simmer down. As we previously reported, prior to the July 14 edition of “Monday Night Raw,” the relationship between the two sides got worse, possibly the worst it has been.

A recent report by F4WOnline notes that WWE officials are very upset with how CM Punk has handled his departure from the company. Word within WWE, is that there are definitely issues to be settled between the two sides.

From an outside perspective, it would appear that everything between the two sides went smoothly. The two sides simply let Punk’s contract expire, and everyone moved on with their lives. However, that is reportedly not the case.

WWE does not see it like that, and are pushing for Punk to face consequences. At this point, nothing is confirmed, only rumored, but there is a feeling that something on WWE’s end may occur soon. It’s rumored that the company will try to impose some kind of punishment on Punk for the way he left WWE.

On Monday, July 21, CM Punk made his first public appearance since leaving WWE. He co-hosted the Alternative Press Music Awards on AXS TV. While chatting with a news station, Punk jokingly said he will never ever return to WWE.

Editor’s Note

Give me a break. I’m sure there are things that aren’t out there that fans do not know of, but how in the hell can WWE impose any kind of punishment on Punk?  Punk may not have honored his contract, but WWE does the same thing, when it releases a substantial amount of talents because of its own failures. My warm viewpoint, or hot take, if you will, remains the same from March.
