The Nov. 28 edition of “Smackdown” featured the debut of The New Day faction, a trio containing Xavier Woods, Big E, and Kofi Kingston. The three wrestled as babyfaces in their first match, defeating Heath Slater, Titus O’Neil, and Curtis Axel in a six-man tag team match. While some do not expect The New Day to last as babyfaces, largely due to rumors of the trio being a reboot of the Nation of Domination faction from the late 90s, it appears The New Day will remain babyfaces for the coming weeks.

On the same showing of “Smackdown,” a vignette featuring former WWE Tag Team Champions Stardust and Goldust aired. Within the vignette, the two brothers cut a promo about darkness. What really caught viewers’ eyes was Stardust saying, “darkness falls on the new day.” The quote has led many to speculate that The Dusts will be feuding with The New Day, likely beginning on the Dec. 1 showing of “Monday Night Raw.” Originally, The New Day was slated to debut on that show.

If the feud does indeed come to fruition, one of the members of The New Day may not be wrestling, seeing that the trio would be up against just two foes. Before they became The New Day, Xavier Woods was the manager of a Big E and Kofi Kingston tag team.

Editor’s Note

With Stardust and Goldust not having much to feud with now that they are no longer champions, I could get behind them feuding with The New Day.
