Although not at all confirmed, there are rumors circulating that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson may be joining the cast for “Transformers 5.”

He would replace Mark Wahlberg, who revealed back in September that he would not be reprising his role for a sequel.

“Transformers: Age of Extinction” totalled $244 million domestically and $1.07 billion worldwide.

Producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura isn’t ruling out the possibility of doing a “Transformers” and “G.I. Joe” (another Paramount picture Johnson is a star of) crossover at some point, although it’s highly unlikely.

“I think if in some moment we all think, ‘You know what, it’s time to bring the two of them together’ then we’ll do that, but I think they’re strong enough to exist on their own.”

Bruce Willis is also rumored to be joining the cast for “Transformers 5” in an unconfirmed role.

The sequel will hit theatres at some point in 2016.

Editor’s Note

The action film genre seems to be oversaturated with eyebrows and elbows, courtesy of The Rock. It’s too much.
