After vignettes hyped his return for more than a month, former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Sheamus returned to WWE on the March 30 edition of “Monday Night Raw,” the night after WrestleMania 31. On the program, Sheamus returned after Intercontinental Champion Daniel Bryan defeated Dolph Ziggler in a title match. “The Celtic Warrior,” sporting a new look, attacked the two babyface stars, solidifying a heel turn.
Later on in the week, on the April 2 showing of “Smackdown,” Sheamus returned to in-ring action, wrestling for the first time since Nov. 17. Sheamus went one-on-one with Daniel Bryan, winning the match via countout upon interference from former Intercontinental Champion Bad News Barrett.
Coming out of the match, Daniel Bryan was left bloodied, requiring a number of stitches to his forehead. While it is unclear if Bryan was cut open by Sheamus, or by a “Bull Hammer” from Bad News Barrett, that didn’t stop criticism from being thrown towards a returning Sheamus. Following the “Smackdown” taping, there were rumors and speculation from fans that Sheamus worked “reckless” in his return match.
On Friday, April 3, Sheamus took to his Twitter account, @WWESheamus, to comment on the “reckless” accusations:

Additionally, Sheamus seemingly took a knock at WWE’s current “PG Era,” which prohibits blood during matches:

Editor’s Note
I’ve been loving Sheamus’ promo work as a heel, even though it’s only been a week. If he drops the cheesy phrases like “fella,” he could be WWE’s top heel.
