It will not take that long for Alberto Del Rio to appear for AAA, a lucha libre wrestling promotion based in Mexico, following his release from WWE. Those involved with the promotion are claiming Del Rio will appear for AAA on Aug. 17. Not much is known about his appearance, and if he will indeed wrestle. Del Rio likely has a 90-day no compete clause, which would prevent him from wrestling.
Now, it looks like WWE may lose another one of its Latino draws, in Rey Mysterio. There are rumors that Mysterio will be leaving WWE in order to join forces with Del Rio in AAA. This all began when Carlos Grasco sent in an interview with former WWE Spanish commentator Hugo Savinovich to PWInsider. In the interview, Grasco claims that Savinovich revealed that Mysterio will join Del Rio in AAA, following Mysterio working out his contract situation with WWE.
The interview, which is entirely in Spanish, and the part in which Savinovich reportedly talks about Mysterio, can be seen below:

Mysterio is currently contractually tied to WWE, despite wanting to leave the company. Back in May, Mysterio’s contract was reportedly close to expiring. However, Vince McMahon and WWE officials were able to extend the contract for a year, believing Mysterio “owes them time.” Mysterio was understandably upset, and may very well take legal action in order to get out of the contract.
Editor’s Note
If true, it will be interesting to see if Mysterio’s battle with WWE becomes public.
