Eight-time WWE Champion and actor Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson was featured on ESPN and its “SportsCenter” program on Tuesday, July 15. Rock was on the program in order to promote his upcoming film, “Hercules,” debuting in theaters on Friday, July 25. During his appearances throughout the day, Rock talked about a wide variety of topics.
In regards to wrestling, Rock did have to briefly hit on a possible return to WWE. When asked about it, he simply stated, “possibly, yeah.” Back in June, Rock was more open about the topic, noting that he’d have to receive a similar payday to the one he obtained to work WrestleMania 29.
“Rocky” would go on to talk about his match with John Cena at WrestleMania 29 in a later appearance on “SportsCenter.” He spoke about suffering an injury early on in the match, with still 25 minutes to go. Despite being in pain, he had to finish the match because there are “no timeouts in wrestling.”
Continuing, he noted that he was relieved when the match was just about to end. However, when he took the “Attitude Adjustment” from John Cena to close the bout, that’s when he tore the abdominal and abductor tendons from his pelvis.
He also noted that upon returning backstage, he was greeted by none other than Vince McMahon. John Cena then came back with a bottle of moonshine, as the three shared a toast. Upon reflecting, Rock laughed about the moment, and said the moonshine was a great remedy for his injuries.
ESPN.com has posted three videos of Rock’s appearances.

Editor’s Note
I loved listening to Rock speak about the backstage moment between he, Cena, and McMahon. I’m also a bit surprised ESPN asked him about Lebron James returning to Cleveland.
