On the Jan. 6 Old School edition of “Monday Night Raw,” “The American Dream” Dusty Rhodes did not make an appearance, even though he was previously advertised. According to a recent report by F4WOnline, this may very well stem from backstage heat that Rhodes has with WWE officials.
As we previously reported, Dusty Rhodes received backstage heat for his handling of a segment with Stephanie McMahon on an episode of “Monday Night Raw” in September of 2013. During the segment, Rhodes put his hand in front of McMahon’s face, cutting her off. Along with that, he did not let her get the best of him during the segment, which was the plan. Ever since the incident, there is said to be a decent amount of backstage heat on Dusty Rhodes, according to F4WOnline.
Although Rhodes may find himself in a bit of hot water with WWE, he is currently working as a producer and booker for its NXT developmental territory. However, his last appearance on WWE programming was in October of 2013 during the inaugural edition of WWE’s Battleground pay-per-view. He was ringside as his two sons, Cody Rhodes and Goldust, re-obtained jobs from WWE by defeating Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns at the event.
