Brock Lesnar will indeed face Big Show at the 2014 “Royal Rumble.” WrestlingRumors.net previously reported that this match-up was likely to be one of the main events for the annual January pay-per-view. The match was confirmed during the Jan. 7 WWE “Smackdown” tapings, and will be announced during the episode’s broadcast on Friday, Jan. 10.

Plans for Lesnar vs. Show leaked onto the internet in late December of 2013, stating that this feud would likely begin during the weeks leading up to the 2014 “Royal Rumble.” As Lesnar was leaving the ringside area during the Jan. 6 “Old School” edition of “Monday Night Raw” following his attack on Mark Henry, Big Show emerged from the gorilla position. Show proceeded to back Lesnar back up into the ring due to his intense stare down, leading to the two briefly engaging in a scuffle, one that left Lesnar on his back and pretty upset.

Paul Heyman would tell Lesnar to wait, as his clients do not fight for free, and apparently Lesnar and Heyman set up a match between “The Beast” and “The Giant” at “Royal Rumble.” This will not be the first time these two super-heavyweights have met. In 2003, the two were pitted against each other in a couple of different feuds. One infamous night, Show and Lesnar competed in a match during an episode of Smackdown, and as a result of a superplex off the top rope, the entire ring imploded.

The “Royal Rumble” will be the first time the two have gone toe-to-toe in a match in ten years.
