WrestleMania Axxess is set to get underway on Thursday, March 26, in San Jose, California, near the location of WrestleMania 31. At Axxess, there will be a tournament including the likes of Adrian Neville, Finn Balor, Tyler Breeze, and Hideo Itami in order to determine which NXT star represents the brand at WrestleMania, in the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal.
A recent report from PWInsider has provided a potential spoiler as to what WWE has planned in regards to integrating a NXT star at WrestleMania. According to the website, the plan is for Adrian Neville to win the NXT tournament, and go on to have a strong showing in the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal.
Additionally, there is backstage speculation that this will also serve as a catalyst for Adrian Neville’s transition to the main WWE roster. It is possible that Neville’s appearance in the battle royal will be booked as his “debut” in WWE, with him beginning to work main WWE programming like “Monday Night Raw” and “Smackdown” in the weeks to follow.
Editor’s Note
If Neville does indeed debut on the main roster, hopefully WWE finds a way to protect him. He has tremendous in-ring skills, but could still use some improvement with his microphone skills.
