On Tuesday, May 26, WWE taped the May 28 edition of “Smackdown” in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania.

Below are spoilers for the May 28 “Smackdown:”

The show opened with Dean Ambrose in the ring, as the “Lunatic Fringe” reflected on what transpired during “Monday Night Raw” on May 25. Ambrose brought up Roman Reigns, and again compared Seth Rollins to Justin Bieber. In closing, Ambrose previewed his WWE World Heavyweight Championship match against titleholder Seth Rollins at “Elimination Chamber.” The main event for the night was then announced. Ambrose will team with Reigns to face Rollins and Kane in tag team action.

1) The Lucha Dragons def. Cesaro and Tyson Kidd- For the match, The New Day, The Ascension, Los Matadores, and The Prime Time Players stood ringside, serving as lumberjacks. In a solid fast-paced opening bout, the crowd remained hot and entertained throughout. In the end, Kalisto picked up the victory for his team.

2) R-Truth def. King Barrett- In a relatively quick match, Truth got the best of Barrett, as the vacant Intercontinental Championship was displayed ringside. After the match, Sheamus appeared, delivering a “Brogue Kick” to both Barrett and Truth each.

Backstage, Renee Young interviewed Lana. Rusev would interrupt, having choice words for his former manager.

3) Ryback def. Rusev via disqualification- Again, the Intercontinental Championship was showcased ringside. Throughout the match, Rusev continued to sell an injury to his ankle and foot. When the action was taken to the outside, Rusev got himself disqualified when he slammed Ryback’s head into the ring post. After the match, Ryback was helped to the back.

4) Paige def. Naomi (w/ Tamina Snuka)- As Paige controlled the match, Tamina tried to run interference, but would be met by a kick by Paige. With Tamina out of the picture, Paige went on to win the match.

Michael Cole entered the ring, welcoming Kevin Owens to “Smackdown.” Owens said while he has been on the main WWE roster for just two weeks, he has been wrestling for more than 15 years. Owens discussed his upcoming match with John Cena at “Elimination Chamber,” saying Cena is the one who has to prove himself. Owens and Cole watched the titantron display Owens’ assault of Sami Zayn at “NXT Takeover: Unstoppable.” In closing, Owens told the WWE Universe to imagine what he will do to Cena, considering Zayn was someone who he cared about.

5) Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns def. Seth Rollins and Kane via disqualification- The babyface team obtained the win when J&J Security ran interference. Reigns had Rollins pinned following a “Superman Punch,” prompting the interference. Next, The New Day rushed the ring, targeting Ambrose. Reigns quickly dispersed of the trio shortly thereafter. With Reigns gone and Ambrose getting back to his feet, Rollins and Kane took Ambrose by surprise, beating him down. Rollins delivered a “Pedigree” to Ambrose, standing tall to close the show.
