As seen during this week of WWE programming, Summer Rae returned, appearing on both “Monday Night Raw” and “Smackdown.” During “Raw,” Summer made her return, kissing her former partner Fandango, then attacking Layla, Fandango’s new dance partner. On “Smackdown,” Summer Rae served as a special guest referee in a Divas tag team match, costing Eva Marie in the bout.

As we noted on May 13, just prior to her return, Summer Rae was expected to return, entering a feud with Layla. Now, it appears these plans have indeed been put in motion, as F4WOnline has published a report on the feud. Its report states that WWE is planning a match between Layla and Summer Rae sometime soon, possibly at a pay-per-view. For the match, Fandango will serve as the special guest referee.

Before disappearing on WWE programming due to her involvement in “Marine 4,” Summer Rae was dumped by Fandango via Twitter. This will likely serve as the catalyst for the feud between Summer and Layla.

Editor’s Note

Surprisingly, I would be looking forward to this reported match. If Fandango serves as the special guest referee, it would not surprise me to see him realign himself with Summer Rae, as the only reason for the split was likely because of her involvement in “Marine 4.”
