WWE taped the June 18 edition of “Smackdown” on Tuesday, June 16, in Buffalo, New York.
Below are spoilers for the June 18 “Smackdown:”
Money in the Bank briefcase holder Sheamus kicked off “Smackdown,” cutting a promo on his plans to cash in Money in the Bank. He would be interrupted by Dean Ambrose, who is dared by Sheamus to come take the briefcase from him. Before Ambrose has a chance to make a move, on-screen WWE Director of Operations Kane appeared. Kane made an impromptu match pitting he and Sheamus up against Dean Ambrose in a two-on-one handicap match.
1) Sheamus and Kane defeat Dean Ambrose via disqualification- In this brief match, Roman Reigns interfered causing a disqualification. Now, for the show’s main event, Reigns and Ambrose will team up to face Sheamus and Kane.
Then, NXT Champion Kevin Owens cut another in-ring promo, only to be interrupted by Cesaro. Later on in the show, the two will square off.
2) Dolph Ziggler (w/ Lana) def. Bo Dallas- Before the match, Bo Dallas cut a promo on Ziggler, saying he is a bad rebound for Lana. If Bo were her, he would “swipe left.” Ziggler made Bo’s words hurt, besting him with a “Zig Zag.”
3) Neville def. Xavier Woods (w/ Big E and Kofi Kingston)- Neville picked up the win with his “Red Arrow.” Big E and Kofi tried to run interference in aid of Xavier, but were cut off by WWE Tag Team Champions Darren Young and Titus O’Neil, Primetime Players.
Next, WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins cut a promo on his upcoming title defense against Brock Lesnar at “Battleground.” A confident Rollins said it is Lesnar who is the one afraid.
4) NXT Champion Kevin Owens def. Cesaro- In what many fans thought was the best match of the night, Owens bested Cesaro with his “Pop-Up Powerbomb.”
5) Sheamus and Kane def. Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns- The heel team obtained the victory when Bray Wyatt appeared on the titantron, distracting Reigns.
