As we previously reported, WWE may very well go with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson to headline the 2015 WWE Hall of Fame class. Our previous report revealed that it would depend upon The Rock’s schedule and willingness to be recognized. With WrestleMania 31 set to occur in Santa Clara, Calif., WWE would tie in Rock’s birthplace, Hayward, Calif., in addition to the presence of his father and grandfather there.
Now, more names are being reported as possible inductees for the 2015 WWE Hall of Fame class. According to F4WOnline, in addition to wanting The Rock to headline, WWE may also try to induct Rikishi and Mickie James next year.
Since 2012, Rikishi has made sporadic appearances for WWE. Building towards the special 1000th edition of “Monday Night Raw,” Rikishi was one of the legends to go up against Heath Slater. Then, at the historic show, it culminated with another appearance by Rikishi and the other legends that Slater clashed with in the previous weeks. Most recently, in 2014, on the Jan. 6 Old School “Monday Night Raw,” Rikishi reunited with Too Cool to defeat 3MB.
On the other hand, five-time WWE Women’s Champion Mickie James has not been with WWE since 2010. From 2010-2013, James worked with TNA, where she would become a three-time TNA Women’s Knockout Champion. In September of 2013, Mickie James left the company, rejecting a new contract.
Editor’s Note
I would love to see Rikishi and/or Mickie James enshrined to the WWE Hall of Fame next year. Obviously, the two aren’t big-names, but this year’s class was star-studded, so expectations shouldn’t be extremely high.
