We here at WrestlingRumors.net reported on April 30 that Mason Ryan, along with NXT stars Danny Burch, Oliver Grey and Raquel Diaz had been released by World Wrestling Entertainment.

According to PWInsider.com, the reason why Ryan was sent packing has a lot to do with his lack of improvement over the years.

Management felt that he wasn’t getting better at a fast enough rate that warranted him staying in NXT Developmental.

WWE liked the idea of having a babyface superstar from Wales. There was also never any issues with Ryan’s ego or attitude, so it was hard to see him go.

Ryan was a member of The New Nexus from 2011-2012. He had been used in squash matches in NXT over the last year.

He’s now available for bookings at [email protected].

Editor’s Note

Ryan was given plenty of time to step up his game and show management that he was ready for a full-time roster spot. Unfortunately for him, it never came together quick enough. We’ve seen superstars released by the company return months later, so perhaps this isn’t the last we’ve seen of Ryan in a WWE ring.
