Update: Daniel Bryan Will Undergo Neck Surgery On Thursday, No Timetable For Return

We reported earlier today at WrestlingRumors.net that Daniel Bryan had suffered a neck injury and would be taking time off.

That report was ultimately confirmed on “Monday Night RAW” when Bryan addressed the WWE Universe.

The WWE World Heavyweight Champion announced that he would be undergoing surgery this Thursday and that he had no clue as to when he’d be able to return.

He did reassure the fans that he would be back and that this wasn’t the last we’d be seeing of him.

There’s no word yet on whether he’ll be stripped of his championship or if he’ll be healthy enough to compete at “WWE Payback” on June 1.

This is a huge blow for WWE. Whether the company wants to admit it or not, Daniel Bryan is their top guy. He was on such a roll, but this injury will undoubtedly set him back. Here’s to a speedy recovery.
