WWE Superstar Christian has not competed in a WWE ring since late March of 2014, and has been sidelined since then due to a concussion. However, Christian has been featured on WWE Network pre-show features to “Monday Night Raw” and pay-per-view events. Christian would even get to host his “Peep Show” prior to the “Night of Champions” pay-per-view going on the air.

Around the time of “Night of Champions,” reports noted that WWE was looking to utilize Christian more on WWE programming. Then, it remained to be seen if Christian would be competing in the ring, or just re-introduced as a non-competitor. Since late May, Christian has reportedly been cleared for in-ring action, but WWE has not allowed him to compete. Further to the point, there were even rumors that Christian would not compete in a WWE ring again.

In a recent edition of Wrestling Observer Radio” with Dave Meltzer, he spoke about the subject. Meltzer noted that a lot of it has to do with WWE officials believing that Christian is fragile due to his frequency of injuries in the past couple of years. Additionally, at 40-years-old, WWE is even more cautious on letting Christian wrestle again.

Though, Meltzer would note that WWE still wants him around:

“I think the mentality is that his wrestling days are over, and [WWE] probably wants to keep him somewhere, but they haven’t offered him a spot as an agent or as a trainer. I don’t know if they will, but they haven’t cut him yet. He could go tomorrow, but they don’t seem to want [to] have him go.”

Editor’s Note

I can definitely see why WWE is reluctant to keep Christian away from the ring. Though, WWE is in a position where it could really be aided by his presence on WWE programming.
