With The Authority on vacation, Michael Cole had to find a special guest for his weekly sit-down interview, which is published on Wednesdays on WWE.com. In honor of his recent return to WWE, Cole sat down with WWE Superstar and Fozzy frontman Chris Jericho. The two talked about a number of topics, including Jericho’s upcoming match on the July 11 edition of “Smackdown” and his match at “Battleground.”
First, Jericho talked about his recent projects outside of WWE. He talked about the growth of his band, Fozzy, in addition to his new “Talk is Jericho” podcast. He noted it can be heard on Podcastone.com, and said he’s thoroughly enjoyed doing it. Jericho also revealed that on July 8, he interviewed Pat Patterson for an upcoming edition of the podcast.
Jericho also talked about his upcoming match with Bray Wyatt at “Battleground.” He said nothing with The Wyatt Family has surprised him, as he has watched the evolution of the trio. Continuing, he called Bray Wyatt a special and unique character, who is in WWE to do mean things. He closed by saying he always returns to WWE because he’s on a mission. This time around, his mission is to teach Bray Wyatt how things are done around WWE.
In closing, Cole mentioned that Jericho would be facing Randy Orton on the July 11 showing of “Smackdown.” Jericho had high praise for Orton, noting their match will be very hard-hitting. Jericho called Orton one of the greatest professional wrestlers of all-time, and said he’s always been one of his favorites to watch and work with.

Editor’s Note
It’s cool how The Authority’s “vacation” leads to no Cole-HHH sit-down interview. It led to a neat feature with Jericho as well.
