With the “Battleground” pay-per-view fast approaching, WWE utilized its Tuesday tapings of “Main Event” and “Smackdown” in order to make the card for the event much clearer. For one, WWE officially announced the WWE Tag Team Championship match for the event. Additionally, Chris Jericho’s return pay-per-view match was announced (contains spoilers.)

During “Smackdown,” a Divas match would be made official for “Battleground,” all but finalizing the match card. It was announced that Cameron and Naomi, formerly of The Funkadactyls, will face off in a Grudge match at the event.

Over the past couple of weeks of WWE programming, tension between the two kept building up. It was fueled by Cameron’s belief that Naomi was holding her down, and she was the better of the two.

The two finally blew up on the July 7 edition of “Monday Night Raw,” after a tag team match against Divas Champion AJ Lee and Paige. The Funkadactyls took the loss after Cameron tagged herself in, and was immediately hit by a “Paige Turner.” Afterwards, the two stared each other down and eventually came to blows. The two would then clash again on “Smackdown” (contains spoilers.)

With the match confirmed, there is just one more match that is expected to finalize the “Battleground” match card. That match would pit former Shield members Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins against each other.

Be sure to check out the current “Battleground” match card!

Editor’s Note

Nice to see WWE getting the card filled prior to the go-home edition of “Monday Night Raw.”
