On Tuesday, Oct. 14, Chris Jericho released his third autobiography, titled “The Best in the World: At What I Have No Idea.” Jericho has been promoting the book through a variety of media outlets, leading to many interesting interviews and insights from “Y2J.” Jericho praised Dean Ambrose in a recent interview, calling him a potential “Face of WWE.” Prior to that, in a Reddit Ask Me Anything, Jericho said Bray Wyatt will be WWE World Heavyweight Champion within a year.
Similar to his past autobiographies, Jericho’s new book includes a behind-the-scenes look at some of WWE’s recent workings. Within the book, Jericho recalled an interesting confrontation between WWE Superstar Kofi Kingston and Chairman Vince McMahon.
While on a plane, McMahon made a snide remark to Kingston, saying, “maybe one day you’ll get over.” Jericho wrote about Kingston looking visibly infuriated, and catching up with Kingston upon departing the plane. Jericho told Kingston to return to McMahon, and challenge him to a fight. At first, Kingston seemed to think everything was one big rib. Though, with Jericho having built a close relationship to McMahon, he knew McMahon, a man with great seriousness, was not joking.
Kingston would heed Jericho’s advice, asking McMahon if he had a problem with him. The two would throw verbal jabs each other’s way, eventually leading to a physical collision. It began when, out of nowhere, McMahon attempted a double leg takedown of Kingston. The two then proceeded to wrestle around for a bit.
However, in the end, all was forgiven. McMahon and Kingston laughed off the incident, and McMahon was pleased that Kingston took a stand.
Editor’s Note
I could only imagine seeing McMahon try to take down Kingston out of nowhere. What a sight.
