Current TNA star Bully Ray was a recent guest on “The Opie and Anthony Show,” a popular talk radio program. Bully Ray was on the program in order to promote TNA’s recent tapings in New York City. During his time on the program, Bully Ray talked with the hosts about a number of topics, some wrestling related and others not.
At one point during his appearance, Bully Ray was asked if he still would prefer to be referred to as “Bubba Ray Dudley,” the name that made him most famous in both WWE and ECW. He did agree, but noted that when he bumps into people on the street, they now call him “Bully” instead of “Bubba.”
Immediately after, one of the hosts said, “but if Vince calls, and says ‘Bubba, we need you back’ that Bully Ray goes out the f***ing-.” Before the host could finish his sentence, Bully finished it for him, stating, “out the window…quickly!” After the laughing from the hosts faded, Bully Ray then quickly began an impersonation of a phone call between he and Vince McMahon, who Bully impersonated earlier in the show.
Bully also talked about why he couldn’t use the Bubba Dudley name in TNA. He said that it had to do with Vince McMahon purchasing ECW, before his departue from WWE in 2005. Since the Dudley name originated in ECW back in the 1990s, Vince now owned the name. Continuing, he mentioned that he still receives four paychecks a year from Vince McMahon for the use of the name.
You can listen to Bully’s appearance below. Around the 11:19 mark, the aforementioned discussion begins:

Editor’s Note
Hilarious stuff from Bully Ray. I actually laughed out loud when he impersonated Vince. It’s also interesting to learn that he receives four paychecks from WWE for any use of “Bubba Ray Dudley.”
